I know the people...
My mother, the late Bertha Petite and father, the late Oscar J. Petite, Sr. raised me and my three brothers right here in this community and taught us all about giving back. Along with Sheila, my wife of 36 years, we bought a home here, raised our children here, attended church here, the same church I was born in.
A pillar of the Pittsburgh community, Judge Petite is well known and well respected. Here he can be seen with his wife Sheila, supporting local causes such as "A Tie For Every Guy," and attending and participating in local sporting events. When he's not serving on the bench or with local charities, he can be found relaxing with some of the local residents of his neighborhood.
I have the education...
I graduated from Fifth Avenue high school, right in this community, earned my undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and a law degree, from Duquesne University, located right in this community. I am certified by the Minor Judiciary Education Board and have done so 23 years in a row.
I have made the tough decisions...

In addition to my own court where I hear issues involving landlord and tenant disputes, civil cases and violations of the building code, 2 to 3 times a week I preside over one of 7 other courts including, arraignment court and night court, traffic court, domestic violence court, non-traffic court, child’s court, criminal court and homicide hearings.
I moved this court back to the Hill...
I moved this court back to the Hill District after 50 years. The reestablishment of the community court, centrally located to serve the Hill District, Uptown, Downtown, parts of Oakland and Strip District residents, gives people a forum to be heard. Community courts are an integral part of the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System. This location allows easy access to the courts by members of the bar and members of all the communities the court serves.
Experience counts...
For the past 23 years I consider it a privilege to have served you as your Magisterial District Judge, and I humbly ask for your trust and support in this election.
